Asian Games 2023 Indian Players Like Virat Kohli And Rohit Sharma Will Not Be Part Of Event Due To World Cup 2023 Know Details

Indian Cricket Team For Asian Games 2023: Senior players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are less expected to play in Team India in Asian Games 2023. BCCI may send Team India’s B team for the continental game, because India-A i.e. the main Indian team will be busy in the ODI World Cup to be played this year. This time Asian Games 2023 will be played in Hangzhou, China.

The Indian team will be participating in the continental games for the first time after the Asian Games played in Jakarta in 2018. This event was to be held in 2022, but due to Kovid it was pushed forward. The Board of Control for Cricket in India is ready to send the list of Indian players to the Indian Olympic Association before June 30.

Senior players such as Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Hardik Pandya, Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah will not be included in the list, as these players will be involved in the ODI World Cup to be played between October-November. In their place, Team India can be sent for the Asian Games with players like Sanju Samson, Umran Malik and Ruturaj Gaikwad.

Earlier, cricket was part of the event in the Asian Games played in 2010 and 2014, but the men’s and women’s teams were not sent by the Indian board. This time the team of women top players is expected to go.

There was no talk of cricket’s entry earlier.

According to a report in ‘Indian Express’, there was talk of not including cricket from India in the first Asian Games. India’s delegation chief for the Asian Games, Bhupendra Bajwa had earlier told The Indian Express, “We have entries in all sports except one – cricket (team) is not going. They said they are busy. We sent them around 3-4 emails, but when we had to send the entries to the organisers, they said they will not go.”
